Scaling and Duality in the Superconducting Phase Transition

چکیده
The renewed interest for critical fluctuations in superconductors is due to the enormous variety of interesting phenomena observed in the last decade. In a zero external field regime, non-classical values of the critical exponents and amplitude ratios were measured. In the observed critical region we have −0.03 < α < 0, ν ≈ 0.67 and A+/A− ≈ 1.065. These values were measured for bulk samples of YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO). They indicate that the observed critical region corresponds to the XY universality class. In the non-zero field regime, the thermal fluctuations make the vortex lattice melt. For high fields this transition is known to be of first-order. Most thermal fluctuation effects in superconductors can be understood using the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model. In zero field, the GL model is given by

Single phase polycrystalline Gd1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-δ samples with x=0.05 , 0.10, and 0.15 have been prepared by standard solid state reaction technique and characterized by XRD and SEM analysis. The electrical resistivity, Hall effect and magnetoresistance measurements have been on the samples. The electrical resistivity measurements indicate a reduction of transition temperature (Tc) and an incre...

The anomalous scaling in the Ginzburg-Landau model for the superconducting phase transition is studied. It is argued that the negative sign of the η exponent is a consequence of a special singular behavior in momentum space. The negative sign of η comes from the divergence of the critical correlation function at finite distances. This behavior is related to the existence of a firstorder transit...

We study numerically the electronic heat capacity, spin and charge current in a diffusive Superconductor-Ferromagnetic-Superconductor systems، with singlet superconducting leads and non-uniform ferromagnetic layer. Specially, we focus on ferromagnetic layer with domain wall and conical structures incorporation the spin-active interfaces. We investigate, how the 0-π transition is influenced by n...

Coexistence of superconductivity and magnetic ordering or their mutually exclusive existence in solids is one of the fundamental problems of solid state physics. To determine the effect of Pr substitution for Gd on electrical and magnetic properties of RuGd1.5Ce0.5Sr2Cu2O10-δ (Ru-1222), Ru(Gd1.5-xPrx)Ce0.5Sr2Cu2O10-δ with x=0.0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.03 3 , 0.04, 0.05, 0.06, 0.1 have been prepared by...
متن کاملWhy can’t experimentalists agree on the superconducting critical exponents?
The scaling analysis of voltage vs. current curves has been an invaluable tool in the study of the normal-superconducting phase transition, both in zero-field and in the vortex–glass transition in a field. However, we have recently shown that the conventional scaling analysis is too flexible to uniquely determine the critical parameters. We have also shown that extrinsic effects such as current...

In this work Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr1.9Ca2.1Cu3O10-y superconducting system (Bi2223) has been prepared by solid state reaction and the effect of nanoalumina additive on the phase formation and supercoducting properties have been investigated. XRD investigations show that addition of 0.2 wt% of nanoalumina on the superconducting system improved Bi-2223 phase formation . The results show that Jc increases...
